At Thames British School, we are proud to be an inclusive international school welcoming students aged 1–18 years. We accept applications at any point throughout the year and guide every family carefully through each step of the admissions process.

Our admissions procedure is designed to be clear and supportive. It consists of the following stages:

1. Admissions Enquiry Form

Begin by completing our Admissions Enquiry Form. This helps us understand your child’s background and needs.

2. Interview and Assessment

Depending on your child’s age, the admissions process may include an interview, an assessment, or both:

Pre-Nursery – Informal interview with a parent/guardian.
Pre-School – Informal interview with a parent/guardian and your child.
Primary School (Years 2–6) – Review of previous school reports and Informal interview with your child.
Secondary School (Years 7–9) – Review of previous school reports and online assessment and informal interview with your child.
High School – IGCSE (Years 10–11) – Review of previous school reports and online assessment, Mathematics and English exams, and an interview.
High School – Cambridge International AS/A Levels or IBDP (Years 12–13) – Review of previous school reports, an online test or subject-specific exams, an English exam, and an interview. A meeting with the High School Principal may also be required.

Please note: an interview with the school psychologist may be recommended for applicants.

3. Admissions Decision

Following the interview and assessment, the school will inform you whether your child’s application has been accepted, postponed, or declined. Successful applicants will receive a formal offer of a place.

4. Enrolment Form

If you choose to accept the offer, please complete the Enrolment Form to confirm your child’s place at Thames British School. The enrolment form serves as an admissions contract which will be signed by the parents and by the school.
